    D.J. Betteridge, MD, FRCP, is Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism at University College London, and Honorary Consultant Physician at University College London Hospitals NHS Trust. He is a Corresponding Fellow for the Council on Arteriosclerosis of the American Heart Association. Prof. Betteridge is currently the Chairman of Lipid Forum of the Royal Society of Medicine, in addition to being a member of the British, European and International atherosclerosis societies. His interests lie in the disorders associated with diabetes and lipids. Some of his publications include Lipids: Current Perspectives, Clinician’s Guide to Lipids and Coronary Disease, Lipoproteins in Health and Disease and Diabetes: Current Perspectives. His interests are in the disorders associated with diabetes and lipids, and he is part of several pilot studies involving pioglitazone.
